Tanzania is famous for its wildlife, with so many animals and birds that every day of your safari brings something new. Whether you love adventure or care more about comfort, this 6 Days Tanzania Mid-Range Safari gives you a good balance of both. You'll see great wildlife and beautiful landscapes, and you'll stay in very good mid-range lodges throughout the trip.

This 6-day safari takes you through four of Tanzania's most famous and varied national parks:

Lake Manyara National Park: Your safari starts here, with a calm first taste of the Tanzanian bush. Lake Manyara is a pretty park where the road winds through forest, with views of the soda lake and the tall Great Rift escarpment. It's a lovely start to the trip, and there's plenty of wildlife to spot along the way.
Serengeti National Park: From Manyara you head to the Serengeti, one of the best-known wildlife parks in the world. It's famous for its wide plains and its large numbers of animals, especially big cats. It's also home to the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move in search of food and water. It's one of the best places in the world to see this huge movement of animals.
Ngorongoro Crater: Next is the Ngorongoro Crater, a huge volcanic caldera that's home to up to 30,000 animals. With its unusual landscape and so much wildlife, it's a favorite safari stop. You'll have the chance to see elephants, lions, rhinos and much more as you explore the crater.
Tarangire National Park: Last, you visit Tarangire, a park whose wildlife changes a lot with the seasons. It's known for its migrating herds and big baobab trees, and the birdwatching is excellent. In the dry season, large numbers of elephants gather here. It's a great way to finish your safari, with beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife.

Day 1 Arusha - Tarangire National Park

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel to start your safari to the Tarangire National Park. Bush savannah, seasonal swamps and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve and the park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. Not only they are found in thousands but also they seem to be more accustomed to the vehicles, and for this you can be closer to these gigantic animals. It is not only the elephants rather a varied numbers of animals such as to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons and more than 500 types of birds make this the one stop solution for both the bird and the animal lovers. After the game drive you will leave the park in the late afternoon and drive to the lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 2 Tarangire National Park - Serengeti National Park

After breakfast you will travel from the Tarangire Area to the lush highlands where crops such as wheat, corn and coffee are grown. Travelling through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area you might stop for a breath-taking view over the Ngorongoro Crater before you continue to the Serengeti National Park. The vast savannah of Serengeti that stretches to the horizon teeming with the wild animals would enthrall to any of the visitors visiting this park. Wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras and buffaloes are on the menu. Through the high and open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to enjoy the diversified habitats and landscapes of the park. You will arrive in the Seronera Valley for an evening meal and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3 Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Breakfast at around 0800am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the Camp in the midafternoon. The term Serengeti means endless plains in Masaai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National park is an arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the “big 5” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Other common species found here includes hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkey and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their annual spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow predators, lion, cheetah and wild dogs with vultures circling overhead! Come back for dinner and overnight.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.
The hot-air balloon gently takes you up in the air and floats wherever the morning winds may take you. During the ride you have a stunning and far-reaching view of the great plains of the Serengeti. From here you can spot big herds of wildebeest, giraffes and prides of lion’s right below you. At the right time of year and with a good amount of luck you might even be able to experience the great migration from above.

Day 4 Serengeti Plain − Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart to Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area. Stopover at Olduvai Gorge which boasts a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that the anthropologists, Dr Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of “Nutcracker Man” and “Handy Man” both very significant links in the chain of human evolution. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and then descend over 600m into the crater to view the wildlife for a half-day safari tour. Dinner and your overnight stay at Ngoro Ngoro

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara National Park

Rise and shine! After breakfast at day break you drive down into the crater. Inside the world’s biggest caldera you will see a diversity of wildlife ranging from black rhinos, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, lions and leopards, to elephants and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the slopes. You might also see buffaloes, spotted hyenas and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch you will leave the crater in the afternoon to travel the lodge in Karatu.

Day 6 Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha

The small Lake Manyara National Park is home to over 400 bird species, primate-filled forests and grassy plains. A large area of the park is covered by the alkaline Lake Manyara, which is home to colonies of flamingos and other water birds. Apart from giraffes, hippos, wildebeests and impalas on the grassy plains, you might see lions lounging in the trees and elephants feeding on the acacias in the woodlands. While the forest near the lake is filled with noisy troops of blue monkeys, extended baboon families hang around the roads. After the game drive you will return to Arusha in the late afternoon.

Later on, will follow the transfer back to Arusha town, or directly to the airport
