Tour Overview

At 05:00 am we pick you up from your hotel in Moshi town with your packed lunch and drive 190km on tarmac road to the Ngorongoro gate. From there we drive down into the crater to explore its special ecosystem. The Ngorongoro Crater is the heart of the conservation area, and you watch the wildlife with the crater walls rising all around you. It’s one of the best places in Africa to see black rhino, which spend most of their time on the crater floor. The crater is one of the world’s great natural sights, it rarely disappoints, and with some luck you can see all of the Big Five here.

Lunch is a picnic next to one of the hippo pools on the crater floor. After lunch the game drive continues through the crater’s different habitats: woodland with zebra and baboon, plains where hyena scavenge, and a lake tinted pink by greater and lesser flamingos.
