Itinerary

  1. 07:30 AM Pick Up from Moshi/Arusha

    Your Kilisa Tours guide will meet you at your hotel and transfer you to Machame Gate, located on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

  2. 08:30 AM Registration at Machame Gate (1,800m)

    After completing park registration formalities, meet your mountain guide and begin your trek through the dense tropical rainforest.

  3. 09:00 AM Begin Hiking

    Follow a well-maintained trail beneath a canopy of ancient trees covered with moss and lichens. Along the way, your guide will explain the unique flora and fauna of Kilimanjaro National Park.

    You may spot black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, colorful birds, and a variety of indigenous plant species.

  4. 12:30 PM Picnic Lunch on the Mountain

    Enjoy a packed lunch at a scenic point within the rainforest while taking in the fresh mountain air and peaceful surroundings.

  5. 01:00 PM Continue Exploration

    Continue hiking toward the lower section of the Machame Route. On clear days, breaks in the forest may offer views of the mountain's upper slopes.

  6. 02:00 PM Begin Descent

    After reaching the turnaround point, begin your descent back to Machame Gate.

  7. 05:00 PM Return to Moshi or Arusha

    Transfer back to your hotel.
