This 4 Days Calving Season Safari package is designed specifically to increase your chances of witnessing the Great Wildebeest Migration during the calving season in the Ndutu Area of the southern Serengeti.
Every year between January and March, around 960,000 pregnant wildebeest return to the short-grass plains of the Serengeti to give birth. Over 14 days, more than 500,000 calves are born — with as many as 8,000 calves born on the same day at the peak of the season. This makes for one of the most spectacular natural events, as predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the herds, creating intense wildlife action.
We have carefully designed this itinerary to cover the Ndutu Area and Ngorongoro Crater, where the majority of the wildebeest migration can be found from January to March. This itinerary allows you to drive in and drive back from the Serengeti National Park to Arusha, maximizing your time in the park and reducing travel time.
Calving usually occurs between January and March each year when the herds begin migrating south after the rains begin. Wildebeest follow the rain, which brings fresh grass and ideal conditions for calving.

The end of Serengeti Migration adventure drive you on the third day in the morning, whereas at 7am, you will head out for a quick game drive in the Ngorongoro (Ndutu Area) after a precise breakfast.
