Tanzania is known for its wildlife and the variety of its landscapes, and a safari here is one you'll remember. If you want both comfort and adventure, the 5 Days Tanzania Mid-Range Safari is a great fit. You'll see Tanzania's wildlife and wide open scenery, and you'll stay in very good mid-range lodges that keep you comfortable all the way through.

This 5-day safari takes you through four of Tanzania's best-known parks:

Lake Manyara National Park: Your safari begins here. With its green landscapes and plenty of wildlife, Lake Manyara is a gentle introduction to safari life. You'll drive through forest along the edge of the soda lake, with views of the Great Rift escarpment. It's a calm, beautiful start to the trip.
Serengeti National Park: Next you head to the Serengeti, world-famous for its open plains and its wildlife. Huge numbers of animals live here, especially big cats, and it's the setting for the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move in search of water and fresh grass. It's a place that stays with you.
Ngorongoro Crater: Then you visit the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Up to 30,000 animals live inside, including elephants, lions, rhinos and flamingos. The views and the variety of wildlife make it one of the most special places to go on safari.
Tarangire National Park: Your safari ends in Tarangire, known for its seasonal wildlife movements and for large numbers of elephants in the dry season. With its big baobab trees and lots of birds, it's a great place to finish.

Children Policy: Children from 5 years and older are welcome to join, with a parent or guardian required to supervise them.
Languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, and German. It’s also helpful to bring along a Swahili-to-English phrasebook to enhance communication with the locals, who appreciate any effort to speak their language.

You'll have good meals throughout your safari. For your health and safety we only provide bottled water, and there's always plenty of it in the safari vehicle to keep you hydrated as you explore the parks.

Day 1 Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Pick up at 6:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, Oryx, eland, giraffe and zebra. Post the game drive, you will head back to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

Day 2 Tarangire to Serengeti

After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti is arguably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.

Day 3 Serengeti Plain

Breakfast at around 0800am. Proceed with morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at the Camp in the midafternoon. The term Serengeti means endless plains in Masaai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like leopard, lion, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra that occurs between the Kenyan Mara and the Serengeti. Varied bird species can be seen here including eagles, ducks, geese, egrets, vultures, secretary birds, ibis, stork, herons, kites, pelicans, cranes and guinea fowl. The Serengeti National park is an arguably the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world with over 3 million large mammals. About 35 species of plains animals can be seen there including the “big 5” - Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Other common species found here includes hippo, giraffe, eland, impala and other antelope types, baboons, monkey and a profusion of over 500 species of birds. In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra begin their annual spectacular migration northwards. In their wake follow predators, lion, cheetah and wild dogs with vultures circling overhead! Come back for dinner and overnight.

If you like to watch wildlife from another perspective, we recommend you to go on a balloon safari. It is an amazing experience to drift silently above the plains with herds of wildlife.
The hot-air balloon gently takes you up in the air and floats wherever the morning winds may take you. During the ride you have a stunning and far-reaching view of the great plains of the Serengeti. From here you can spot big herds of wildebeest, giraffes and prides of lion’s right below you. At the right time of year and with a good amount of luck you might even be able to experience the great migration from above.

Day 4 Serengeti National Park - Ngoro Ngoro Crater

Dawn is a good time to watch wildlife and so you will be up early to join an early morning game drive. You will return to the camp for breakfast before heading out for another game drive in the park. Here in the Seronera region you will often see wildebeests and zebras in close proximity of lions and other predators such as leopards and cheetahs. After a picnic lunch you will continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro conservation for overnight.

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq kms with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari.

Later on, will follow the transfer back to Arusha town, or directly to the airport
