This 5 Days Tanzania Migration Safari is a focused and well-paced itinerary designed by Kilisa Tours & Safaris to maximize your chances of witnessing the dramatic Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration, including the famous Mara River crossings in Northern Serengeti.
Ideal for travelers with limited time, this safari combines Central Serengeti, Northern Serengeti (Kogatende / Wagakuria – Mara River), and the Ngorongoro Crater, offering exceptional wildlife viewing and an authentic budget camping experience close to nature.
From mid-July to October, millions of wildebeest and zebras move north from Central Serengeti, crossing the Grumeti River and later the Mara River as they migrate toward Kenya’s Maasai Mara. This itinerary focuses on the Northern Serengeti migration corridor, where river crossings are most frequently observed.
This safari includes:

• Drive-in / drive-out safari from Arusha

You will be served daily meals during this safari. To avoid health problems we use only bottled water, the vehicles always come stocked with plenty of bottled water to ensure you remain hydrated while on safari.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, where you will be met by a Kilisa Tours & Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. A full safari briefing will be provided.

After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward Serengeti National Park. Enjoy scenic landscapes en route and stop for a picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate.
Enter Serengeti National Park in the afternoon and enjoy your first game drive in the Central Serengeti (Seronera Area), known for its high density of predators and resident wildlife.
Optional activities (extra cost): Olduvai Gorge Museum visit or Maasai village experience.

Accommodation: Simba Public Campsite – Ngorongoro

After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is home to approximately 30,000 animals, including the Big Five and the endangered black rhino.
After a picnic lunch, return to Arusha, marking the end of your Tanzania migration safari.
